Fresnillo 23-Metric Tonne Trolley Locomotive
Brookville has built five 23 – metric tonne trolley locomotives for Industrias Peñoles S.A. de C.V. They will be placed at the Fresnillo Mine in Zacatecas, Mexico.
The Fresnillo Mine utilizes a bottom dump station where the locomotive passes over a trackless section suspended on its integral side supports. The mine cars hauled by the locomotives have a hinged-bottom platform that swings open to release the material inside. This allows the locomotive to roll through a dump station without stopping to unload each car.
The locomotives are equipped with radio remote control through the dump station allowing the operator to stand clear of the locomotive as it passes through the station.
Each locomotive is equipped with IGBT dual motor type control with dynamic braking, dual 100Hp motors, planetary axles, chevron suspension, Willison couplers, JackWalker rerailing system, fire suppression system, side supports, liquid cooled brakes, enclosed cab, and pneumatic sanders.
Electrical power is supplied to the unit through a pantograph located over top of the motor controls.
This trolley’s dimensions:
Width over locomotive: 57" (1448mm)
Width over side supports: 92" (2337mm)
Height over Enclosed Cab: 75" (1905mm)
Track Gauge: 36" (914mm)
Wheelbase: 96" (2438mm)
